Afternoons get sweeter with dash of pink, RM10 channelled to cancer association

ENJOYING afternoon tea is not only a nice way to spend time with your friends and family, it can also be a good way to raise awareness for a cause.

This October, in conjunction with breast cancer awareness month, Botanist Lounge and Bar at Parkroyal Collection Kuala Lumpur is offering its Pink Serenity Afternoon Tea.

Starting off the pink theme are five types of savoury bites.

The Home-cured Atlantic Salmon with Salmon Roe on Bread is nicely balanced with the roe adding texture.

The Ebi Prawn Tartar with Cucumber and Caviar is refreshing with crisp cucumber and a subtle burst of flavour from the caviar.

The True Omega Egg and Beetroot Brioche is soft and moist, with mild sweetness from the beetroot while the egg filling is creamy.

The Smoked Duck with Sun-Dried Tomato Brioche offers elements that complement each other well, resulting in a rich, tangy flavour.

Finally, the Mini Goat Cheese Tartlet with cranberries and nuts is creamy, tart and crunchy.

Two types of scones – baked with walnuts and raisins, and cranberries – are on the menu complete with jam and whipped cream.

The cake selection includes Rose Water Cheesecake, which is smooth and floral, and Mini Velvet Cupcakes with light frosting.

The light and airy Vanilla Strawberry Eton Mess comes with naturally sweet strawberry while the Raspberry Rose Panna Cotta is creamy and tart.

The Mini Glazed Doughnut is soft and slightly chewy while the Raspberry Ball Rose Jelly is fruity and firm.

For a little bit of fun, the Pink Globe comes with a hammer to break it to reveal chocolate-covered strawberries hidden inside.

The set comes with tea (English Breakfast or Earl Grey) and coffee (cappuccino or latte).

Priced at RM168, it is served from 3pm to 6pm.

A donation of RM10 will be channelled to Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia with every purchase of the Pink Serenity Afternoon Tea.
