HK star Myolie Wu and Bruneian actor Wu Chun thrill fans during recent KL visit

Hong Kong actress Myolie Wu and Bruneian actor Wu Chun drew a sizeable crowd when they appeared at the J-Jade & Jewels showcase at Pavilion Bukit Jalil on Nov 15.

Myolie dazzled in an elegant black gown while Wu exuded effortless charm in an all-white suit.

In a group interview with StarLifestyle, Myolie, 46, opened up about her evolving career.

In recent years, the former TVB star has been focusing on expanding her presence in mainland China, where she’s currently filming the period drama Princess Shang.

She also shared excitement about an upcoming role in the movie, The Fourth Act, directed by filmmaker and former actor Derek Yee.

On balancing a thriving career with family life, Myolie candidly admitted: “It’s nearly impossible to balance them completely, but I try my best.”

Married to businessman Philip Lee since 2015, she’s a proud mother to three sons – Brendan, eight; Ryan, six; and Liam, four.

Myolie then emphasised the importance of pacing herself, making a conscious effort to avoid taking on too many projects to ensure quality time with her loved ones.

Fans of her singing may also have reason to rejoice.

The actress – who has lent her voice to theme songs for TVB dramas such as War And Destiny, Wars Of In-Laws and Ghetto Justice – hinted that a solo concert could be possible in the future.

“I love singing, but holding a concert isn’t easy. We’ll see if there’s a chance to do it next year,” she said.

Meanwhile, Wu, formerly of the Mandopop boy group Fahrenheit, shared his joy at finally returning to Malaysia after six years.

His last visit in 2019 was a family vacation, and he eagerly anticipates revisiting the local culinary scene.

“I’ve always loved and missed the food in Kuala Lumpur. What I’m most looking forward to on this trip is definitely the food,” he said with a smile.

Wu and his wife Lin Liying married in 2004 and have two children – a 14-year-old daughter Nei Nei and a 12-year-old son Max.

The family of four have been living in Shanghai for four years.

During the group interview, Wu proudly revealed that Nei Nei’s mastery of the Chinese language has now surpassed his own.

“She speaks better than me… I think it’s great to have made such huge progress in four years,” he said.

Much like Myolie, Wu strives to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Despite his busy schedule, he tries his best to prioritise his family.

“I can’t be away from home for too long. Spending time with the children is the most important thing,” he shared.
