In 2013, Hong Kong model and actress Irene Wang married Karson Choi, the son of billionaire toy magnate Francis Choi.

The wedding made headlines as it reportedly cost HK$800mil (RM402.7mil), with the couple said to have received a Kowloon mansion and tens of millions of dollars’ worth of custom jewellery as gifts.

Over the past 13 years, Wang has gradually taken on fewer acting roles, choosing instead to focus on family life and raising her three children with Choi.

The couple has maintained a low profile and a harmonious marriage, earning admiration from fans.

From time to time, the Monkey King actress offers glimpses into her life on social media, sharing moments from birthday celebrations, holidays as well as get-togethers with friends and family members.

More recently, the 39-year-old posted on InstaStory photos of herself enjoying a simple meal – a bowl of instant noodles and iced milk tea – at a Hong Kong cha chaan teng (Hong Kong-style cafe).

Beyond her down-to-earth lifestyle, Wang has also been active in community service. She has been spotted personally distributing daily necessities to elderly residents and underprivileged families in older neighbourhoods as reported by Dimsum Daily.

The article went on to mention that her hands-on approach to charity work, coupled with her preference for simple pleasures, has earned her the nickname “the most unpretentious tycoon’s daughter-in-law" from netizens.
