Club Med launched its first padel partnership with House of Padel at The Campus, Ampang. — Club Med

Club Med has recently launched its first-ever city padel partnership with House of Padel at The Campus in Ampang, Selangor.

This collaboration marks the first time Club Med has brought its resort sports and lifestyle concept into an urban environment, making it more accessible to city folks.

The partnership also includes the property's first-branded junior padel experiences and the launch of Club Med's House of Padel Kids School (on Feb 14), which is aimed at introducing children to the sport in a fun and inclusive way.

Additionally, the partnership will host padel tournaments in Kuala Lumpur, with Club Med holidays awarded to winning players. Participants can also look forward to padel retreats at selected resorts, letting them enjoy the sports outside the city.

House of Padel will also play host to the Malaysian chapter of the Club Med Padel Cup. The event follows the success of the inaugural regional tournament held last year at its property in Bali, Indonesia, which brought together teams from cities such as Singapore, KL, Seoul (South Korea), Sydney (Australia) and Bangkok (Thailand).

Padel will be introduced at Club Med's resort in Sabah, set to open later this year.

"For more than 75 years, sport has been one of the ways Club Med helps people connect, progress and feel their best. Through our partnership with House of Padel, we engage people where they play in the city and we extend that passion into our resorts. In turn, the resort experience inspires them to continue playing when they return home," Club Med's Singapore and Malaysia general manager Oliver Monceau said in a press statement.

Padel and pickleball may look similar and both use racquets, but they are two different sports. And the easiest way to tell them apart is by the equipment and the court.

Padel uses a tennis-like ball and is played on an enclosed court, while pickleball usees a lightweight plastic ball and is played on an open court, separated only by a net.
