ACTRESS Fasha Sandha (pic) is widely known for her professionalism, and a key reason she remains well regarded in the entertainment industry is her refusal to be selective about co-stars.

Fasha, whose full name is Nur Fasha Sandha Hassan, is currently starring in TV3’s Akasia slot drama Doa Yang Terlindung alongside actor Firdaus Karim.

The casting of Firdaus as the male lead, however, has drawn criticism from some online users, Kosmo! reported.

“I don’t think it’s fair to question his casting. I believe he has talent, he puts in the effort and he suits the demands of the script,” said Fasha, 42.

She added that viewers may not yet have seen the full strength of Firdaus’ character, as only four episodes have aired so far.

She described physical appearance in the entertainment industry as highly subjective, stressing that while looks may be part of the package, talent remains the top priority.

> A single mother from Kampung Kepala Batas, Penang, is struggling to provide for her seven children aged between four and 21. Since her divorce four years ago, she has been the family’s sole breadwinner, reported Harian Metro.

She previously worked as a supermarket sales assistant but had to quit as it became difficult to manage her children.

Suhaida now earns a living by making cakes and anchovy sambal, which she sells on a small scale via WhatsApp, generating a net income of about RM600 a month.

Suhaida said she hopes to obtain baking equipment such as a mixer and a larger oven, along with some working capital, to help grow her small business and better support her family.
