Int'l hunting, falcons exhibition kicks off in Qatar's Doha

DOHA, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- The eighth edition of the Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition kicked off in Qatar's capital Doha on Tuesday, with more than 100 exhibitors participating in the five-day event.

The exhibition showcases rare falcons and the latest hunting equipment and hosts a series of cultural and artistic activities to promote the tradition of hunting and falconry, said organizers of the expo.

According to the organizers, the event is highlighted by a falcon auction, where falconry enthusiasts from around the world will bid for premium falcons.

Falcons are birds of prey known for their speed and precision in hunting. Falconry, the practice of hunting with falcons, has a long and rich history, especially in the Middle East, where it remains a revered tradition.
